Saddle River County Park

At 577 acres, Saddle River County Park consists of five linked parks: Rochelle, Otto C. Pehle, Dunkerhook, Glen Rock, and Wild Duck Pond. The parks are linked by a 6-mile long, multi-use path that follows the Saddle River and Ho-Ho-Kus Brook.

Rochelle Park Area

This section is perfect for sports lovers. It houses two tennis courts, a basketball court, a softball field, and a playground. It also has picnicking areas and a pavilion with electric use.

North of Dunkerhook, the multi-use pathway forks, heading either to the Wild Duck Pond area or the Glen Rock area.

Rindlaub Park

Just 15 minutes north of downtown Saddle River, New Jersey, this private park is perfect for the person who prefers picnicking with privacy. It’s not highly trafficked, as it’s somewhat hidden behind the municipal building, and the entrance is easy to miss. It’s not too hilly, so it’s great for a leisurely walk or jog. It also has baseball and soccer fields, a playground, and an amphitheater where the town puts on special events.

J.A. McFaul Environmental Center

Founded in 1967 and only 10 miles north of downtown Saddle River, this 81-acre preserve offers beautiful scenery to guests who want to enjoy the serenity of nature. The main building overlooks the waterfowl pond and has an auditorium, browsing library, and nature exhibits. It also has free Tuesday films, among other events. Meander the wheelchair-accessible boardwalk that looks out over the waterfowl pond. Then enjoy the bird shelters or the Environmental Center gardens, which hold beautiful plant life.
